Camping with Dad

Last weekend, Jake and his dad went camping in the forest. Jake was very excited because it was his first camping trip. They drove for two hours and arrived at a beautiful lake.

First, they put up the tent next to a big tree. It was hard work but they did it together. Then Dad showed Jake how to build a small fire safely. They cooked sausages and ate them with bread. Everything tasted better outside!

At night, the sky was full of stars. Jake had never seen so many. Dad pointed at different stars and told Jake their names. They heard owls and other night animals, but Jake was not afraid because Dad was there.

In the morning, they swam in the cold lake. Jake said, "Dad, this is the best weekend ever!" His dad just smiled.
